Purpose: To ensure the goals of the Niagara Gatekeepers Program are implemented consistently across the Niagara Region in a manner that is responsive to local Gatekeeper Committee needs and respectful of those whom it serves.

Key Functions: Policy Development & Strategic Planning, Intake, Program Evaluation, Funding, Membership, Support of Community Committees, Resource Coordination, and Consumer Rights.

Membership: The Steering Committee will consist of key community stakeholders (agency workers and volunteers) who have an interest in improving services for vulnerable seniors, and hwo have a commitment to the development and implementation of a volunteer-based outreach program.
